Davido’s Uncle And Adeleke Family Produces Another Osun Governor

With what is currently on ground, the popular Adeleke family in Osun State has produced a second governor, from same father and mother. The first was Isiaka, popularly known as Serubawon, and who is now late, and now Ademola, who some people enjoy addressing as the dancing senator. Both brothers are from same parents and uncle to superstar musician, Davido. Their third brother, Deji is the billionaire mogul behind Pacific Holdings and Adeleke University, in Ede.

We can confirm that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, any moment from now, will declare Ademola, candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the winner of the just concluded governorship election in Osun State.

Adeleke is a former senator and believed to have defeated the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gboyega Oyetola, by a margin of about 44,426 votes.

That is based on PREMIUM TIMES’ computation of the final results announced by the electoral commission, INEC. The PDP reportedly polled about 403,374 votes while the APC got about 358,948 votes.

INEC is currently collating the final figures before an official announcement is made, they added.

Adeleke is said to have won in 17 local government areas out of the state’s 30 while Oyetola, a former chief of staff to ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola, now his political enemy, won in the remaining 13 local government areas.

Both men had first slugged it out in a 2018 contest which Oyetola narrowly won. Unfortunately, he wasn’t lucky this time. Again, his fallout with Aregbesola, President Muhammadu Buhari’s minister of interior as well as the polarization of the party, is also believed to have contributed to his political downfall.
