Emeka Obasi, Top Journalist And Man Of Ideas, Dies At 58!

Top journalist and man of ideas, Prince Emeka Obasi, is dead.

Aged 58, he reportedly gave up the ghost on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, after a protracted illness that confined him to oxygen for years. For the record, he chronicled his intractable health challenges in a book entitled “Saved For His Praise.”

The publisher of Business Hallmark and brain behind the popular Zik Prize in Leadership awards, he was married to Betty and their union was blessed with four children.

Bold and brilliant, the gifted networker hailed from Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, where incidentally he also served as a Commissioner for Information and Strategy under ex-Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.

He read English at the University of Calabar and prior to veering into media entrepreneurship had worked in a couple of media houses.

Fondly called The Prince, he wrote a popular back page column dubbed The Presidency, where he never failed to say it as it is.

His burial details were yet to be announced at the time of writing this.

Condolence messages, however, have been pouring in for him.
