“I Will Declare A State Of Emergency On Infrastructural Development In Anambra” – Valentine Ozigbo

Nigerian business mogul, Valentine Ozigbo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 election in Anambra, has stated that he would prioritize rapid development of infrastructure in the state if elected governor.

Ozigbo, made this known while speaking to journalists at the scene of a recent market fire in Ihiala Local Government Area on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

While describing the state of infrastructure in Anambra as “deplorable and grossly below basic standards for governance”, the respected business leader revealed that he would be declaring a state of emergency on infrastructural development as one of his first executive actions as governor.

“I have close to two years travelling through all the 21 local government areas in our state, visiting all of them, a minimum of eight times, so I know how backward we are in terms of roads and other social services,” Ozigbo, a multiple award-winning global CEO, said.

“Willie Obiano’s out-going government has performed extremely poorly in this regard. There is no nice way to say this. They have failed Ndi Anambra. We are all disappointed.”

He questioned why the Atani-Osammala-Ogwuikpele Road has not been developed beyond the point former Governor Peter Obi left it close to 8 years ago.

Ozigbo also stressed the importance of the road saying that the economic importance to the people of the area puts it on the top his first 100-Days in office priority list.

“Atani-Osammala-Ogwuikpele Road is a vital access way for the people of Ogbaru to move their agricultural produce to the important Onitsha market. It is a tragedy that the Obiano government has abandoned them,” the multiple-award-winning global CEO said.

“Umueze-Anam Road is another road of importance and concern to me that it has been abandoned by Obiano. Obi built the road and stopped at Mmiata. The master plan is for the road to extend to Anaku.

“Roads are basic infrastructure and should be a right of every Anambra citizen. We deserve the best and my sincere pledge is that I will ensure that we once again have roads we can be proud of.

“Ndi Anambra deserve dignity when ever or where ever they are using public services, whether it is roads, public water system, hospitals, transportation, schools, or interacting with any government ministry or agency.

“I intend to deliver a truly 21st Century governance to my people. By the grace of God, we will succeed,” Ozigbo declared.

Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, one of Africa’s largest and most diversified conglomerates revealed that he had set up a think-tank to perfect his first 100-days Marshall plan if elected as the governor in the November election.

An inspirational figure and natural crowd-puller, the PDP’s flag-bearer has ignited one of the biggest political movements in the South East region with his revolutionary Ka Anambra Chawapu message and modern approaches to electioneering.
